“I’m grateful to have spent a good part of my life studying art. Lately, I’ve being enjoyed Chinese artist Ai Wei Wei’s work. He works in China and makes art out of everyday things in every medium. He risks getting thrown in jail with a lot of his artwork. His work is a process of setting some energy in motion. Objects do this. Spaces do this. Films do this. And being an artist isn’t about painting pictures or making sculptures or films. They are not the end. Making oneself and other people feel happiness is the end. I fear losing free speech in the United States right now. I fear the silent loss of so much natural beauty. Now is the time to write stories back into our land.” – The Artist

Volume One finds its cover art in a number of ways, from local art shows to random emails to knowing someone who knows someone who knows a great artist. The art always originates from a current or former Chippewa Valley resident. If you'd like to submit cover art, send us a message.
