Artisan Forge open house offers peek at artists, expansion

Barbara Arnold |

Artisan Forge Studios is opening its doors for “A Night at the Forge” on Saturday, Feb. 25. The purpose: To host an evening for Chippewa Valley residents to meet the studios’ talented denizens and to hear the inspiration for Artisan Forge’s upcoming expansion. The creative and collaborative workspace currently houses 24 artists and artisans who work with all types of materials and cover all kinds of genres. Come eat, drink, and converse. Mostly, though, experience the newly opened store and gallery and learn about the new expansion slated to be complete by late summer 2017. Seen from Clairemont Avenue, the façade of Artisan Forge Studios can be misleading. It’s actually located at 1106 Mondovi Road, and to get there, you enter via Craig Road.  Got that? Once you get there, TARDIS, the police box from Doctor Who, comes to mind. For once you walk inside, the building goes on … and on … and on … and on some more. Since Artisan Forge Metalworks owner Greg Johnson opened the doors to the 20,000-square-foot studio in late 2015, the facility has fulfilled his vision of a place to foster artistic creativity, collaboration, community, and education. Greg and team simply call it “a one-stop shop for creativity.” Anyone interested in learning about leasing at Artisan Forge Studios is encouraged to attend! Be a part of the pulse that is Artisan Forge Studios.
