A new record is on the way from singer/songwriter J.E. Sunde called Now I Feel Adored, releasing on March 3 via Iowa-based label Cartouche Records. Alongside Sunde, the new record features the core group of musicians that make up his touring trio – Andrew Thoreen (Har-Di-Har) and Shane Leonard (Kalispell, Field Report) – and a guest appearance by PHOX’s Monica Martin for a duet called “I Will Smile When I Think Of You.” You can order different preorder packages for Now I Feel Adored and learn more at www.cartoucherecords.com.
If you’ve been jonesing for some new S. Carey music, look no further than a brand new gorgeous ambient folk track he collaborated on with Vancouver electronic musician Teen Daze called “First Rain.” The track will appear on a forthcoming Teen Daze record called Themes For The Dying Earth, which comes out Feb. 2. You can hear the song and pre-order the record at teendaze.bandcamp.com
Hot off being named among the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s list of “5 Wisconsin Bands To Watch in 2017,” Kalispell, the solo(ish) folk project of Shane Leonard, just dropped a delightful animated video for “Parting Ground,” a standout track off the band’s latest record, Printer’s Son. You can watch the video, animated by Jon Burns, online and catch Kalispell live on Jan. 28 as part of Sawdust City Limits at The Plus in Eau Claire.
Speaking of videos, there’s a great new music video that dropped recently from hip hop / folk act We’re Wolves. The video (directed by Walter Mueller) shows the band performing their song “Graves” live in a cavernous room in a local church intercut with some cool drone footage of downtown Eau Claire. To check out the video and learn more about the band, head to the We’re Wolves Facebook page.
