Eau Claire ambient folk artist Waldemar – the project of Gabe Larson – just released a video for a brand new song called “Visions” via music magazine Impose. The video, shot by Scott Kunkel, mixes idyllic nature shots with dark images of a bride being haunted by a shadowy spirit. The writeup alongside the video premiere had this to say about the song: “ 'Visions' is a transcendental, ethereal treat, creating an atmosphere of tension and emotion.” The song comes with the announcement of the Visions EP, the debut effort of Waldemar, which drops Jan. 13. You can hear two brand new songs by electronic pop artists Two Castles and Sniffle Party which dropped on Soundcloud in mid-December. The Two Castles cut “Survive” is a startling, arpeggiating synth gem drenched in reverb with an undeniable hook, while the Sniffle Party track is one of her darkest tracks to date with a swaggering bassline and ghostly vocal harmonies. Check out soundcloud.com/twocastles and soundcloud.com/sniffleparty respectively to check ’em out.
