Kalispell – the folk project of former local Shane Leonard (Field Report) – is finally about to release a second LP called Printer’s Son. Leonard launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise recording funds almost two years ago. Kickstarter donors were finally treated to the digital version of the eight-track album in mid-March.

Fast and furious folksters Them Coulee Boys have a chance to perform at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival this summer via an online voting bracket called the “Bonnaroo Battle of the Bracket” through Sonicbids. The popular festival is offering two performing slots to prospective contest applicants, and Them Coulee Boys are currently pushing to make it into the Sweet Sixteen. The final two bands in the bracket get a spot to perform at the festival as well as a $1,000 prize.

You can download a new single by Two Castles – the lo-fi electronic project of Eric Christenson – called “Rusty,” with the promise of a debut EP on April 6. The EP is called Dream Room, with two of the three tracks co-produced by Eau Claire-via-Minneapolis beatmaker, North House. To get the single and learn more about the EP, visit twocastles.bandcamp.com.

A Kickstarter is underweigh to help fund a project by Pedals Music, a local music shop headed up by Eric “Pedals” Thompson. The Gibson Sessions are a fundraiser in which different local musicians such as Trevor Ives of Meridene record versions of songs on one of the shop’s vintage Gibson guitars. Money raised by the album will help offset the cost of accessing services for alcohol and drug abuse.
