Inspiring Miniature Monets

summer group painting program designed for kids

Sammy Gibbons |

Parents looking for something for their bored children to do this summer – something that also leaves the house mess-free – may find just that at Cheers Pablo’s “Petite Picassos” monthly painting classes. Cheers Pablo in Eau Claire offers group painting classes, as well as private parties, for people of all age groups and levels of artistic expertise. For “Petite Picassos,” young painters are given step-by-step directions by professionals and leave the studio with a high-quality masterpiece of their own making. These teachers will work with kids to ensure that they have fun for the hour-and-a-half to two hours that they are there, and it might perhaps encourage them to pick up a paintbrush instead of the TV remote outside of the class. A different design is created during each session, and attendees can view the designs in advance online (go to cheerspablo.com, click on “Calendar” and then “Eau Claire”). The “Petite Picassos” events target the younger crowd with images that will intrigue little eyes, including a colorful owl called “Hootie Cutie,” swirling tree landscapes, and more. The cost of each class provides a child with all the essential materials to bring these pictures to life, including an apron, supplies, and a 16”-by-20” blank canvas that awaits the stroke of an idle-handed kid. The classes will welcome any child who wants to continue to be creative while taking a break from school. Parents of these mini-Monets can register for classes online at cheerspablo.com or by calling Cheers Pablo at (715) 514-3686.
