Charles Davis is thankful he’s going into his mid-fifties, which means the roller coaster ride will finally be slowing a little.

Charles Davis is a self-taught artist who started drawing comic books and branched into other genres. This piece, which has been displayed at Acoustic Cafe, was inspired by a photo he ran across at the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library.

Volume One finds its cover art in a number of ways, from local art shows to random emails to knowing someone who knows someone who knows a great artist. The art always originates from a current or former Chippewa Valley resident. If you'd like to submit cover art, send us a letter.
