After a heck of an inaugural weekend in June, the Blue Ox Music Festival, quickly becoming one of the best bluegrass festivals in the country, will return in 2016 on June 9-11 right here in the Chippewa Valley. Blue Ox, produced by the founders and organizers of Country Jam, is once again co-curated by killer Twin Cities string band, Pert Near Sandstone, who will again perform at this year’s festival. The full lineup remains unrevealed, but the festival released some of its plucky headliners led by acclaimed roots and American newgrass jam band, Railroad Earth. Grammy-winner Sam Bush will make his Chippewa Valley return as well, with some of the best in the genre like Leftover Salmon, Whiskey Shivers, and crossover folk qunitet Blitzen Trapper filling the Valley with bluegrass. More artists will be in announced in the coming months, and tickets are on sale now at www.blueoxmusicfestival.com.
