Brian Bethke shares new album, Ghost Songs

Eric Christenson |

Local singer-songwriter Brian Bethke has a brand-new album out this month called Ghost Songs. Before this album came together, Bethke was really starting to feel the mundanity of songwriting, but when he ceded some creative control to Evan Middlesworth at Pine Hollow Studios, the album began to take a unique alternative country vibe. Ghost Songs comes off more as a collaborative effort than anything Bethke has previously released, as his work was mostly solo. The Osseo native makes some big strides on Ghost Songs that send an acute message that Bethke’s music in undergoing a creative evolution into something bigger and greater than ever. You can find the album right now on iTunes. On Aug. 22 at 7pm, Bethke will be joined by Middlesworth and Adam Harder Nussbaum for a live performance of new songs on the album to celebrate the CD’s release at the Volume One Gallery, 205 N. Dewey St. You can also join in for a Q&A session with Bethke and crew about the making of the album. Additionally, they promise a new video screening and extra surprises.
