“Golden Birch Trees” by Ruth Lundblad

Ruth Lundblad is a local artist, wife, mother and grandmother, substitute teacher and retired Christian Education Director, who started painting in the late ’90s. She has enjoyed painting with and learning from many great artists in the area since.
“The birch tree in the piece is a familiar sight in our beautiful area and is the natural canvas reflecting all of the spectrum of light in the woods. Birch can be painted so many ways and is almost never white. The glowing technique used in this watercolor was developed by Paul Odman as a way to capture the golden sunlight on the beautiful bark using golds and purple tones.” – The Artist
