129th Annual Silver Mine Invitational

V1 Staff |

The Flying Eagles are the feeder club for the Eau Claire Ski Club, one of the oldest ski clubs in the nation who are known internationally their ski jumping tournament. This year’s 129th Annual Silver Mine Invitational will be Friday and Saturday, Jan. 16-17, at the Silver Mine Hill on Eau Claire’s west side. The tourney is your chance to see world-class skiers and ski jumpers from around the world  – as well as Eau Claire. Skiers will compete in both ski jumping and Nordic combined (which pairs ski jumping with cross-country skiing). It’s a K90 tournament, so viewers will have the chance to see ski jumpers soar the length of a football field. Competition will be under lights both nights. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the gate, whiles kids 12 and under are free. Learn more at www.ec-skiclub.com.
