Marijuana Deathsquads, returning to the House of Rock December 26

Christmas being over is frankly kind of a bummer. If you find yourself with a little more holiday blues than you’d like, we’re gonna go ahead and endorse the House of Rock as the place to get a few spare jollies before the winter doldrums officially set in. Experimental electronic crazies Marijuana Deathsquads will pound the stage on Friday, Dec. 26, with opening acts by Aero Flynn (the funky new project by former Amateur Love frontman Josh Scott) and Har Mar Superstar (the iconic Minneapolis showman who belts out soul bangers and will surely yet gradually strip down to his undies). Then if the House of Rock is still standing the next day, stick around for what we’re calling “the classic Eau Claire experience.” The dudes who make the indie lit-nerd rock of Laarks (who are just as tall as they sound) are all back in town for the holidays and bring with them the soft folk intricacies of JE Sunde (formerly of The Daredevil Christopher Wright) and round the show out with the slick grooves and pumping beats of Eau Claire producer sloslylove. And then, if you want, we can return to your boring life with a newfound energy and the refreshing thrill of inspiration to take 2015 by the horns.
