Every good workout needs a great soundtrack, and a new locally created exercise DVD will do just that. Jeff Rogers of Rogcity Fitness, sometimes known as “Bon Iver’s personal trainer,” has been working on his second music-infused workout DVD Everyday Exercise: A Workout for Everyone and is set to release it Nov. 18. Everyday Exercise will involve physical workouts combined with an excellent collection of music from some of today’s leading artists including Yellowcard, Sugarcult, American Authors, as well as Ingrid Michaelson, Allie Moss, and Lianne La Havas. The DVD will have two 30-minute workouts that Rogers describes as being upbeat, fun, and energetic. They utilize full body movement, which means that they can be done anywhere and don’t require any expensive equipment. With cardio workouts and core-strength exercises, Roger’s wants to show that a healthy lifestyle can be accomplished by anyone and should be included in everyone’s routine. Rogers decided to keep the production as local as possible, and he accomplished this in a number of ways. Locals Dan Huiting and Lauren Josephine were responsible for filming and editing the video, respectively, and the whole thing was recorded on a local blueberry farm. Rogers has said he wanted this project to be as real and genuine as possible, and as a result he utilized the resources provided right here in the area.
