Laila Robins, a 1981 graduate of UW-Eau Claire, will join the likes of Claire Danes, Mandy Patinkin and Rupert Friend as she is cast in the upcoming season of Homeland, an Emmy-nominated series on Showtime. She will play Martha Boyd, U.S. ambassador to Pakistan. Robins left her home of New York City for Cape Town, South Africa, to film. “I am thrilled beyond belief and so very happy,” said Robins, a St. Paul native. “This is a very classy, high-end series, and I am blessed to have gotten the job. It is a great opportunity for me, and I can’t wait to begin to create my character.” Showtime premiered the fourth season of “Homeland” on Oct. 5.
