Guppy's Pizza Dives into Water Street 'Za Market

Zack Katz |

The closing of Jim’s Pizza earlier this year was a considerable loss for the local pizza buff. Now, though, they’re able rejoice in a new (delicious, cheese stuffed) filling for that void. Guppy’s Pizza, owned and operated by former Jeff & Jim’s Pizza employee Joel Gupton and his wife Tanya, will offer a “very similar” menu along with ambitions to improve on what was left in the wake of the former 421 Water St. tenant’s closing. Subs, specialty pizzas, salads, rolls and pretty much everything in between you’d expect from the pizzeria will be available. After conducting interviews to fill out their staff and hosting a soft opening beginning Sept. 10, Joel and Tanya Gupton are primed and ready for Guppy’s Pizza to begin churning out pies. Guppy’s will join the cast of other late night pizzerias open until 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and midnight during the week.
