“Fire and Fury” by Wendy Ike
acrylic painting, 24”x 30”, 2013

Wendy Ike is a horse crazy nature artist. She paints horses and landscapes in watercolors, acrylics and charcoal. Wendy is a flight attendant, wife, mom and dressage rider.

“My work reflects a passion for horses with large brush strokes and vivid colors. Motion and expression is what gets noticed and is reflected in my horse paintings and landscapes.  ‘Fire and Fury’ is one of my favorites as it is named after my own Hanoverian Warmblood horse, Sturm Und Drang, which means ‘fire and fury’ in German. The colors were chosen when I asked my daughter what her favorite colors were. I continue to paint many different horse themes and love trying new subjects but my style can still be recognized even in landscapes and still lifes.” – The Artist
