Lauralee Stenzel has always enjoyed combining color, shape, and texture in her watercolor and mixed media creations. Her art is available for purchase at Riverwood Gallery and Brent Douglas Floral in EC.
"I usually work on Arches cold pressed paper, but for ‘The Watchman’ I chose Arches hot pressed paper. I showed the effect of changing light on the color of the rooster’s feathers using a variety of dark valued pencils. The background enhances ‘The Watchman’ with texture created with mid and light value watercolor. The title reflects the presence the rooster has as his role in the coop." – The Artist
