Lasers, Anyone?

Action City preps brand new heist-movie-style laser maze

Eric Christenson |

You’ve all seen the action film cliché, right? After pulling off a daring heist and before he or she can escape, the flexible protagonist is suddenly faced with a room full of ceiling-to-floor laser beams to bend and squeeze through. If he or she crosses just one of them, alarms go off and the jig is up. Now, with all of the intensity but none of the criminal implication, you can try your hand at this trope in Action City’s new Lazer Maze Challenge. Slated to open in the coming weeks, the arcade’s newest attraction is time-based – basically, try to get through the lasers as quickly as possible. If you happen to break a beam, don’t worry; you won’t be carted off to jail, you’ll just have some time added to your score. Unfortunately, no word yet on the ability to disable the laser grid and run through the room quickly only to have it turn back on a second too soon.
