Get Ready to Bug Out

V1 Staff |

The restaurant at 1920 South Hastings Way has a new name, a new attitude, and a new winking mascot – but don’t worry, they still serve pizza. Bug Eyed Betty’s Half Moon Saloon recently opened in the building that was previously home to Boston’s, Broadway Bar & Pizza, and then (for the blink of an eye) the City Tavern. After only a few weeks, City Tavern closed shop early this year and the building was vacant until last month when it re-opened as Bug Eyed Betty’s. Betty’s offers pizza – there are 14 specialty pies on the menu – as well as creative burgers, a sandwich for everyone, and salads with more than just “green stuff.” The menu also features 13 different sauces for bone-in and boneless wings ranging from the mild Maple BBQ to the dangerously hot Bug Eyed sauce. Best of all, if you like to go out for lunch during the week, for just five bucks you can enjoy Betty’s pizza and salad bar from 11am-1pm.
