Bremer Banks on Bigger Branch

Bremer Bank, a fairly recent addition to the Chippewa Valley’s financial scene, has announced plans to build a new bank at the southeast corner of Oakwood Hills Parkway and Damon Street on Eau Claire’s south side. The St. Paul-based bank, which opened a small office on Brackett Avenue last year, plans to start construction on the currently vacant site near Oakwood Mall in late spring or early summer. The new bank will be 6,800 square feet and will include multiple drive-up lanes and a drive-up ATM. While Bremer’s current Eau Claire office focuses solely on loans, the new full-service bank will offer business, retail, and agriculture banking as well as mortgages, investments, insurance, and other services. “This is an excellent location in the Eau Claire area for us to build our new home,” said Jim Lahti, market president for Bremer Bank. “We will begin construction soon and look forward to opening the doors later this year.” Bremer Bank, which operates in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin, is primarily owned by the Otto Bremer Foundation, a nonprofit that donates millions of dollars every year in the communities the bank serves, including Eau Claire.
