I’m guessing many of you didn’t see this year’s Clearwater Winter Parade down Water Street, in person or on TV. That’s because it was about three below zero outside that Sunday, Dec. 15 (and 15 below with the wind chill), so you probably wisely stayed home. And if you did stay home, you probably didn’t watch it live on TV-13 since the most epic Packer comeback of the season was on another channel at the exact same time. So that means you probably missed the hilarious moment where Volume One’s Holly Jolly Action Squad of five jump-suited Santas and a couple OF elves ended up pushing their stalled vintage ’67 Chevy van down the street. That’s because right in front of the TV lights and cameras, the engine killed and wouldn’t re-start – and that was less than two blocks into the parade. Of course that epic failure came after days of preparation and hours of waiting in the cold for the parade to even start in the first place. Luckily, we were a fairly hearty bunch who found the whole thing quite amusing. If you, too, would like to join in the amusement, you can see the rebroadcast of the parade on Christmas Day at noon on TV-13, or at 1am on the 24th. Feel free to laugh both with and at us, because we thought it was hilarious, too.
