Gather Around the TV for Around the Farm Table

Combine my favorite things: Growing, cooking and eating local food. Downhome, guitar-picking music. All things Wisconsin. There you have Around the Farm Table. The new four-part series premieres on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 7:30pm on Wisconsin Public Television. The star of the show is fourth-generation organic dairy farmer Inga Witscher from St. Isidore’s Mead near Osseo. She sings, she cooks, and she charmingly interviews folks to share their stories. Can’t wait for the debut? Check out “Pickin’ in the Pumpkin Patch” at AroundTheFarmTable.com. You’ll see how to make a great homemade pumpkin soup, learn how pumpkin seed oil is made, and listen to a cute little ditty composed and sung by Inga herself that I can’t get out of my head. She makes farming in Wisconsin cool. And, every kid will know their milk comes from a cow, not a carton. My hope: the series doesn’t stop at four.
