Saturday Morning

Lois Scorgie |

At the farmers market,
I inhale smiles of friends,
feel the flute music,
relish the flowers in bouquets.
Then at the church sale
I’m graced by welcomes
and a two dollar
purchase of a silky robe,
novels and a blank journal.
On my way home,
four people sitting on a lawn
in a row of kitchen chairs,
enthusiastically applaud
a cartwheeling girl in pink tights.
