The (New) Silver Heart Club

Formed in 2007, The Silver Heart Club is a band whose debut album has been a long time coming. Set for official release on August 31, with a release show on September 16 at The Oxford, Rookie Card appropriately expresses a love for self-made music and a boyhood dream of having one’s own rookie card. Influences for their breathy power-pop include Paramore, Forever the Sickest Kids, and Relient K. Colfax locals Bo Weber and Steven Price, both 24, began the band the summer after high school graduation without knowing how to play a single note. “We decided to have a band before we knew how to play any instruments,” says Weber. Setbacks made for a rough six year journey, but Weber and Price have steadily made their way to the self-engineered and produced album. “We decided to buy pro tools, learn the programs, and do it ourselves completely,” shares Weber.  The Silver Heart Club has already played opening gigs with bands such as Never Shout Never and Write This Down, and has an October show opening for All Time Low in Milwaukee. Afterwards, they plan on taking their music on the road. “It’s our first album,” says Weber, “and it’s our own rookie card.”
