JAMF Software has cleared the first hurdle on the path to building a new office building next to Phoenix Park in downtown Eau Claire. On April 9, the Eau Claire City Council unanimously OK’d an amendment to a development agreement with RCU, which had the option of putting up a second building next to its downtown HQ but decided against doing so. Under the new agreement, a private developer will build a four-story, 65,000-square-foot office building for JAMF, an up-and-coming firm that makes software for Apple devices and now employs nearly 100 people in Eau Claire. Because the JAMF office will be built on top of what is now an RCU parking lot (roughly across the street from the Phoenix Park labyrinth), the city has agreed to build a temporary parking lot nearby for RCU and public use.
