“Play-date with the Rain” by Kelsey Temanson
Acrylic and gauche, 10.5” x 13”

Kelsey Temanson is a student at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire studying Illustration and printmaking.  She hopes to continue her education at graduate school to become a Medical Illustrator.

“This painting is a response to the excitement that comes out of rain showers during the spring and summer seasons. Splashing in the puddles on a hot rainy day is one of my fondest memories, and my intention for this piece was to recreate that childhood moment for the viewer to relate. The direct downward perspective helps the observer feel as if they are that child jumping in puddles. Because of my interest in nature and human anatomy, my work tends to focus on the relationship between humans and the natural surroundings by how we are both constructed similarly and interact with one another. If you are interested in any work let me know at temanska@uwec.edu.”
