If you’ve ever seen a Christmas card in your life you know that nothing on Earth is more picturesque than a child ice skating as snow lightly falls around their head. And I know every time you’ve seen those lovely illustrations and photos you’ve thought ‘I’m totally going to do that with my kids and their going to look so adorable.’ Well, the time has come. Prepare your Cute-Kids-Camera and head out to the Come & Play Days sponsored by Eau Claire’s Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department. The string of days in late December showcase each of the city’s public ice rinks and encourage kids to come out and skate. Along with all sort of ice-related activities and games, the Come & Play Days feature an arts and crafts project, music, coloring, board games, card games and just about everything else that seems like a fun time. Parents can drop their kids off for a few hours or stick around and play themselves (the ice rinks are still open to the public, so adults can have their own lovely winter skating outing).
