For the first time ever, the Family Resource Center of Eau Claire County is hosting its “Where in Eau Claire” scavenger hunt. “We had a previous event that we did for several years but this year we wanted to choose a new main fundraising event where the community could interact with landmarks and places around the city of Eau Claire,” says Brook Berg, Executive Director of the Family Resource Center of Eau Claire County. Four to six teams will scour the city of Eau Claire, visiting local establishments and completing various tasks assigned by scavenger hunt officials. There’s an extra requirement, too – to capture each moment on film. Upon completion of each task teams will earn points. The team with the most points will be dubbed the winner. Want to earn more points? Teams can do so by donating money to the Family Resource Center. Teams who donate $50 to $100 will earn four points, teams who donate $101-$200 will earn six points and those who donate $200 or more will earn eight points. Teams who choose to dress in themed ensembles (imagination required) will earn an additional four points. Need another reason to participate in this event? The proceeds of the event go to the Family Resource Center of Eau Claire County. The Family Resource Center aims to assist parents in raising their children by offering parental education, information, and support to the families of Eau Claire County. The services they provide include parenting classes, playgroups for the children, worksite seminars, home visits, and many more programs that meet the various needs of parents.  There will also be food, music, and a silent auction following the scavenger hunt. So if you’re so inclined, grab your Stars Wars get-up or your favorite sitcom character garb and head on down to the Phoenix Park Pavilion to get your search on. Teams can register online at www.frcec.org.
