Eau Claire School District Eyes Up Lutheran School

Eau Claire school district officials are showing interest in the former Eau Claire Lutheran School as a location to house the district’s early learning programs. The Eau Claire school board has yet to determine whether to move ahead with the purchase, but prices are being discussed. District officials want to hold early learning programs in this building including early childhood special education, kindergarten and Head Start, a program for pre-kindergarten children in low-income families. They are looking for a new location because these programs are causing overcrowding in other schools. In addition to determining the cost, board members also need public support for the plan. A previous attempt was made to acquire a referendum to buy the church but it did not go through. The public needs to be on board before this church can help solve overcrowding in schools for their early learning programs.
