Flyway Film Festival 2012

Thom Fountain |

Once again the Lake Pepin Art & Design Center in Pepin and the Widespot Performing Arts Center in Stockholm will play host to the Flyway Film Festival – a festival showcasing films from close to home and international filmmakers. The festival runs Oct. 18-21 and has a variety of events, including a Friday Night Shorts screening, featuring seven short films and a special showcase for Wisconsin and Minnesota filmmakers. A new addition this year hopes to capture the attention of a younger – well, much younger – generation. On Oct. 20, there will be a free sampling of Kids Shorts. Throughout the weekend over 35 films will be shown, representing five countries, but with selections as close to home as Stockholm itself.
