Bullying Awareness Event

Katelyn Hendren

One Tree Martial Arts of Eau Claire will be hosting an event Friday August 17 from 6:30 to 8:30pm, to raise awareness about bullying. Law Enforcement Officials, Teachers, Counselors and other professionals will be speaking about bullying identification, awareness, prevention and response. Speakers include Jeremy Buchholz of One Tree Martial Arts, Eau Claire County Deputy Chad Strasburg and Amy Polzin – student of One Tree, mother of a survivor and former Air Force Suicide Prevention Trainer. This seminar aims to teach attendees how to stop bullying, what can be done about it and resources that are available to help. “One of the big reasons that we are putting on this event is to teach students that martial arts isn’t just for them but involves the community as well. I want the students to be informed and teach people about suicide prevention” said Buchholz, One Tree Martial Arts teacher and founder. The event is free and those who wish to attend can register online at confidentkidsdontgetbullied.com or by calling 715-514-0656.
