Artist Jason Anhorn has a plan.

“Build it and they will come” seems to be part of the philosophy behind a new welcoming mural underway in Ladysmith by Eau Claire artist Jason Anhorn. Currently being painted on a retaining wall visible from the Highway 8 Bridge over the Flambeau River, the mural will be based on the iconic greeting signs one sees when entering the town. Anhorn spoke of using the mural to bring unity to the community. “It’s kind of nice to beautify the city and show the community can come together and work together and pull through and just keep a positive attitude.”  Work on the mural began June 4 and is set to be finished sometime after June 11. So the next time you wander into Ladysmith, keep your eyes peeled for a grand welcoming.
