Yellow Tooth Grinners Jason Lieble and Shawn Stelmaszewski bring you Good Grief with their new recording.

This catchy mash of punk and metal, with substantial inspiration from bands like Tool and Green Day, accompanied by upbeat, catchy compositions and you basically have Yellow Tooth Grin.

The Eau Claire band’s debut album, Good Grief, was written, recorded, and mixed by multi-talented Jason Lieble  (vocals, drums, rhythm guitar, and a little bass) and Shawn Stelmaszewski  (lead guitar, rhythm guitar, and bass guitar) in Jason’s basement here in Eau Claire.

This album was greatly influenced by Shawn and Jason’s “love for the 50s style of melodic vocals” and artists like Buddy Holly and Jim Pullman, plus their infatuation with old rock music, and their passion for creating an album that was a blast to record.

The result is a diverse six-track record that delivers sounds for relaxed listening as well as some you’ll feel inclined to listen to at barely acceptable volumes, pound on nearby surfaces, or even sneak in a head bang or two.

Jason’s favorite track, Fixer, showcases the best mix between his deeper, catchy lyrics, and Shawn’s insane guitar solo that shows just what he is capable of. Every track offers a multi-dimensional and complete musical experience, for a range of listeners from passive to detail-oriented. What really steals the limelight, though, is the unbelievable fast-paced and intricate guitar work.
