Fifty Points to McIntyre! Harry Potter Memorabilia on Display

Brittni Straseske |

Harry Potter fans take note. Kristin Rosche, a student at UW-Eau Claire has put together a Harry Potter showcase to beat all others. Located in the McIntyre Library on campus, the display contains items like Harry’s Hogwarts acceptance letter, Azkaban posters, a basilisk fang (right), ingredients for a potions class, and LEGO re-creations of the Hogwarts Express. Rosche and the other librarians assembled the display to commemorate the final movie release and the end of the Harry Potter journey. The case will remain intact until the end of February. The library is also hosting a Harry Potter reading marathon and costume contest on Feb. 21 (8am-8pm) in the library grand corridor. The reading marathon will start with the first Harry Potter book and will continue the full 12 hours. Those who are interested in reading can sign up for a time slot on a chart near the display. Prizes will be given to the best costume.
