Fuddy Meers

UWEC stages acclaimed David Lindsay-Abaire play

You wake up in an unfamiliar room. You have no recollection of how you got there and upon further examination, you realize you don’t even know your own name. Then, a strange man hands you a book telling you that your life story is inside. This is only our introduction to Claire, the protagonist of Fuddy Meers. Nationally renowned playwright David Lindsay-Abaire had this play workshopped as part of the National Playwrights Conference (and his play Rabbit Hole was adapted into a movie in 2010). Fuddy is a complex and confusing comedy that will have you giggling throughout. Just when you think it’s about to be 50 First Dates, the plot thickens and the ensuing action complicates Claire’s already-muddled life. You’ll be captivated by the dramatic mayhem of numerous story threads, all woven into a compelling finale. And take note of the high-quality costumes, a new addition this year to the theater department’s budget. (This student-produced play has mature content and language.)
