Rosie Flores is coming to the Valley with her high-octane show of country-rockabilly sounds in tow. The Texas-born, California-raised singer/songwriter has added her flavor to numerous compilation CDs such as the Johnny Cash Tribute Dressed in Black and appeared on Austin City Limits and Late Night with Conan O'Brien (another rockability artist). Since the mid-80s, Rosie has been a major figure in the music scenes of LA, Austin, and Nashville with her blend of rockabilly, honky tonk, and alt-country. In June of 2008, she accepted the prestigious Peabody Award for her narration of the 10-hour documentary radio show on the history of Rockabilly, Whole Lotta Shakin. In addition to these screen credits, Rosie is currently appearing in the documentaries Every Night is Saturday Night: The Story of Wanda Jackson and Sweet Lady with the Nasty Voice. Flores has also been nominated for best "Horizon Artist" by the Academy of Country Music in California. In 2008 she was Endorsed by Fender at the NAMM in Anaheim, CA and was chosen to open a special show celebrating 65 years of Fender along with Dick Dale, Billy Gibbons, Jimmy Vaughn, and Cindy Cashdollar. Not too shabby of company to be in. www.RosieFlores.com
