Art.

The artist's hammer.
Every year in spring, UWEC’s Foster Gallery hosts a juried art show and senior BFA, two must-see shows for enthusiasts of our visual art scene. Not only because it exhibits the caliber of art coming out of the university (and sets the bar for future students), but also because it’s a glimpse of what could be coming for our community art scene as a whole. The 54th annual Spring Juried Art Show will run from April 7-28. University of Akron associate professor Charles Beneke is the juror for this year’s show, with winners and scholarship participants announced at 7:30pm at the opening on April 7 in Haas Fine Arts Center. All works are submitted by currently enrolled UWEC students. The BFA show will follow, starting May 6, so all you art hounds better mark your calendars.
