Local rapper Ryan Steinhoff – aka Syndrome – has recently gone national, and not only with his music. Steinhoff signed with independent record label Tof Sound Records based out of New York about five months ago, and his song, The Untold Story, is in the final stage of approval with the head of the School Safety Ambassador in California and representatives in Wisconsin. “I came up with the idea for the song one day when I was watching TV, and I saw that a few kids had killed themselves over being bullied. I felt empathy for the kids and their families and asked myself how I could make an impact through my music.” The song conveys messages of understanding, support, and hope for victims, an attitude of non-acceptance of bullying behavior, and how these negative actions actually reflect upon a person’s character. The campaign that Steinhoff is undertaking is a personal campaign to reach out and educate youth about the repercussions of bullying, and he will be performing some of his top songs throughout the anti-bullying assemblies. Any school that is interested in participating in an assembly is encouraged to contact Steinhoff. Come see Syndrome locally at the House of Rock with Thai Juan and DJ Bezze and guests TeaWhyB on March 25. Doors open at 8pm, and the show starts at 10.
