It’s time once again for the annual production of The Vagina Monologues. Every spring the VDAY organization on the UW-Eau Claire campus produces this show to raise awareness about violence against women and donations to help fund local groups and shelters working to end abuse. The monologues include stories of rape and abuse, birth and love. Each year the show is performed with a fresh cast of more than 60 women – all students, faculty, and staff – and is student produced and directed. This year’s production will be benefiting the local Bolton Refuge House and Center for Awareness of Sexual Assault as well as, globally, the women and girls of Haiti. Accompanying each performance is a silent auction of crafts and gifts from local artists and businesses. Silent auction begins at 6:30pm, performances start at 7pm February 24, 25, and 26. Tickets are $10, students $7, at the UWEC Service Center.
