Glorious punter Dominic Berlin
As if it weren’t fantastic enough that the Packers made it to Super Bowl XLV, Eau Claire’s very own Dominic Berlin won the National NFL Punt, Pass, and Kick Competition in the 14-15 age group.

Berlin, a sophomore at Eau Claire North High School, has participated in the competition since he was 8 years old and made it to nationals last year, but had never before taken home gold.

In the competition, each contestant is given one attempt at a punt, a pass, and a kick. Each is ranked on a basis of distance and accuracy. Berlin may have broken national records, but his family is still waiting to hear final word from the NFL.

Nationals were held on January 15 in Atlanta prior to the Packers-Falcons playoff game. At the game itself, all 10 national winners received an award in an on-field presentation after the third quarter.
