Yes, that Jeff Daniels.

Yes, that Jeff Daniels.

When you hear the name Jeff Daniels, what do you think of? Movies, right? Well, what some may not realize is that actor Jeff Daniels (of Dumb and Dumber and The Squid and the Whale fame) is also a musician and the Chippewa Valley has the golden opportunity to experience it first hand! The Michigan native will be performing at the Heyde Center on November 12. While Daniels has been writing music for 30 years now, he only began recording and performing for the past decade. He also sings accompanied by the guitar on both his CDs (Grandfather’s Hat and Jeff Daniels: Live and Unplugged) and in live shows. His songs include If William Shatner Can, I Can Too and The Dirty Harry Blues. Stylistically, his music is a brilliant mixture of folk and blues in acoustic form. His lyrics are comedic and each song tells a story written in Daniels’ own quirky point of view. Despite this, every song has its own way of being surprisingly relevant to his listeners. If you’re worried about him being just another actor trying to monopolize on every aspect of the entertainment business, fear not. Daniels is an extraordinarily talented singer/songwriter with his audience in mind. Not only does he provide an evening full of great music, he entertains, gets the audience to laugh, and keeps them involved.

An Evening of Music and Humor with Jeff Daniels • Nov. 12 • Heyde Center for the Arts, 3 High St., Chippewa Falls • 7:30pm • $19-$23 adults, $17 seniors/youths
