Wisconsin Film Festival Wants Your Celluloid

Anna Soldner |

Calling all filmmakers! The 13th Annual Wisconsin Film Festival (presented by UW-Madison Arts Institute) is now accepting narrative, documentary, experimental, or animated film submissions of any length. Earlier this year the festival screened roughly 200 independent, local, and global pictures in nine theatres in the heart of our capital city. Films will be sorted into three categories: Student Films, Open Reel (general submissions of any length, open worldwide), and Wisconsin’s Own (films of any length from filmmakers with “Wisconsin ties”). Films must have been completed after January 1, 2009 and postmarked by December 1, 2010 (student submissions have an extended deadline of December 31, 2010 to accommodate fall semester film students’ schedules). Cash prizes will be limited to “Wisconsin’s Own” categories for the sake of promoting and supporting the merit in all films. Entry fees vary from $10 to $35 depending on the film category.
