Singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile will make her debut in Eau Claire as part of a national concert tour in celebration of the success of her career and most recent album, Give Up The Ghost. Her transformative third album features the talents of Elton John, Benmont Tench of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, and Amy Ray of The Indigo Girls. After the release of her self-titled first album in 2005, Carlile’s fandom grew immeasurably, helping her to gain recognition from recording studios and high-profile artists. Her second album, The Story, released in 2007, allowed her to evolve as an artist, taking inspiration from western music and Grand Ole Opry culture. The Story sold 313,000 copies, and singles such as Turpentine reached No. 41 on the Billboard chart. Her immensely popular work has also appeared in numerous television commercials and shows such as Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice, and her impressive touring company has included Ray LaMontagne, Sheryl Crow, The Fray, Chris Isaak, and Tori Amos. For fans of Carlile’s unique sound, which often transcends genres of country, folk, pop, and rock, her upcoming performance is a must see. Fans can expect a wide variety of instrumentals including electric guitar blends, harmonious vocals, and string arrangements. Give Up The Ghost is intended to elicit powerful emotions, from raw tenderness to pure jubilation. Grammy-nominated artist Katie Herzig, known among followers of the indie scene, will perform the opening act.
