Writer/Musician Returns to Hometown for Show

Charlotte Pike |

Born and bred in Eau Claire, Jim Hoehn, who now resides in Brookfield, Wisconsin, has spent his adult years in some good company. A graduate of UW-Eau Claire, Hoehn became a journalist for Rugby Magazine and the Journal Sentinel (among others) and went on to write a book, The Father’s Guide to Birth, Babies, and Loud Children. Most notably, Hoehn has established himself as quite the singer/songwriter, opening for the likes of Robert Earl Keen, Todd Snider, Mac MacAnally, and the list goes on. His latest CD, Royalty Check Hotel was recorded in Texas and includes some of Austin’s most prominent musicians. The Silver City Sun-News of New Mexico credits Hoehn’s style as “a little Jimmy Buffet/Jerry Jeff Walker, with [his] own brand of humor and music.” On Friday, Aug 6 the ultra-successful native returns home to Acoustic Café to put on a show for the town that raised him.
