Female Folk Trio Hits the Road for One Last Hurrah

Feathe celebrates their two-year run

Lauren Buelow Cunningham |

Feathe, a trio of ladies with a passion for down-home harmonies, will celebrate their two-year run by hitting up seven states in 14 days. The band is Alyssa Rieper on guitar, Adelyn Strei on drums, and Johanne “Jana” Swanson on accordion. “We did a brief nine-day tour last summer, just around Wisconsin and Minnesota, so this seemed like the natural progression,” Swanson said. The trio will play several unique venues, including a synagogue, an apartment building, and the Uptown Art Fair in Infinitea’s new Minneapolis shop. One thing the tour does not include: any stops at a 21+ venue. “We’re really excited to be seeing the country this way – playing music everyday with our best friends.” This tour, however, also marks the end of Feathe’s journey as a group. Swanson will be moving to Albuquerque in August, but she assures that the spirit of Feathe will live on through new musical projects. (Adelyn has her project Adelyn Rose, and Alyssa has solo plans.) The tour kicks off at Harmony Corner Cafe on July 21 at 7pm, $3 cover. For more info visit myspace.com/feathe.
