OK, just gonna take a second to catch my breath here. Is it just me, or is the front third of the modern Chippewa Valley summer drastically overloaded with stuff to do compared to the other two thirds? Obviously, there’s stuff going on all summer long, but the last several years’ growth in the big event department seems to be all stacked up in June. Open Air Festival of the Arts, Chippewa Valley Air Show, Taste of Eau Claire, the Renaissance Faire, the new Eau Claire Triathlon, and plenty more. Not to mention the old standbys like FATFAR, the Tuesday Blues series, the Sounds Like Summer Concert Series, and others. Kinda sets a blistering pace to the season right out of the gate. But perhaps that juxtaposition makes the mid- and late-thirds of the summer that much more relaxing. Makes that lemonade that much more tasty. And makes the breeze that much more soothing. Hmm, suddenly I have a hankoring for a hammock.
