Art has always been a way for a person to color in their soul, and Cyndee Kaiser, muralist and illustrator in the Eau Claire area, found a way for art and health to intertwine. And on May 29, Kaiser revealed 12 banners at the downtown farmer’s market with a few area kids who helped develop them. As an artist, Kaiser is always looking for locations to place art, and the farmers market was an ideal spot (she also had a hand in 2 S Barstow and Wax Paper). Kaiser said it’s important for kids to get involved because it’s fun, and teaches them something about eating healthy. “I took a list of everything the farmers market sells and divided up for the Boys and Girls Club to create double-sided canvases,” she said. Kids from the Boys and Girls Club and Lakeshore Elementary poured over the banners and were excited to create something for public display. The banners will announce when certain produce comes into season and hopefully continue healthy eating throughout Eau Claire, Kaiser said.
