The 28th Annual Minneapolis/St. Paul International Film Festival will be showing more than 145 films from over 60 countries over a two-week period at the St. Anthony Main Theater in Minneapolis. Film categories range from “Minnesota Made” to “Late Night Series” to “Childish Series” to “International Cinema” – flavors for all tastes. The event also boasts a panel discussion on independent filmmaking as well as animation workshops (FREE) for those who have always wanted to know how to create their own Tom & Jerry. The festival opens with WWII thriller, Max Manus, introduced by 91-year-old Nazi resistance hero Gunnar Sonsteby, who is flying in from Norway for the occasion. If you are unable to attend the film festival, the Minnesota Film Arts organization continues their mission to present Minnesota with the best in new and historical independent cinema by providing year-round programming at the St. Anthony Main Theater.
