Is it a scorpion or a crayfish? Let’s see!

With seven successful years already notched, the green event that started as a local grassroots movement has officially mounted an annual following and the eighth annual version of the local celebration looks to the biggest yet. Owen Park will again host the celebration, where all community members are welcome to actively peruse the booths and exhibits promoting environmentally friendly products and services, listen to and ponder the ideas of the series of environmental speakers and experts, or just soak up some entertainment courtesy of musicians such as Billy Krause, Brad Sienne, and the Evergreen Grass Band. Kids will find plenty to do, too, as art, games, crafts, and musician Magic Mama will be present. If you get hungry, locally produced food will be available from UWEC’s Foodlums, Haymarket Grill, The Goat, and Alchemy Organica. Oh, and as if all that wasn’t enough, free bike tune-ups are also available. If you need more to satisfy your green thumb UWEC will be sponsoring a number of events throughout their expanded Earth Week series (April 20-25) including plant sales, environmental movie showings, a local organic food dinner and trash clean-up activities.
