Showing over 200 films in eight theaters throughout Madison, the 2010 Wisconsin Film Festival may very well live up to its claim to be “possibly the largest campus-based film festival in the United States.” This festival is all about the films, though; you won’t find any flashy red carpets or VIP access here. Instead, prepare to be wowed by a slate of solid moviemaking endeavors from across the world, including a short by Menomonie native Samuel Tomfohr entitled Moon, Stars, Earth, Horse about a family dealing with a father’s homecoming from military service. This year’s opening night feature is The Topp Twins: Untouchable Girls, a New Zealand documentary about Jules and Lynda Topp, a country music singing comedy sister act. For more information, including the full line-up of films on April 14-18 and ticket sales, head to wifilmfest.org.
